2. Monel Alloys

Monel K – 500 is an upgraded version. It has some aluminum and titanium added to it. This makes it even stronger and gives it better mechanical properties at high temperatures. 3. Hastelloy Alloys
Hastelloy alloys are all about corrosion resistance, especially in harsh chemical environments. Hastelloy C – 276 is a very common one. It’s a nickel – molybdenum – chromium alloy with a little bit of tungsten. It can resist a wide range of corrosive chemicals, including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and chlorine. You’ll find it in chemical processing plants, where it’s used to make pipes, tanks, and other equipment that comes into contact with these aggressive chemicals.
Hastelloy B – 3 is another interesting one. It’s mainly a nickel – molybdenum alloy. It’s really good at resisting corrosion from hydrochloric acid and other reducing acids. So, it’s often used in applications where there’s a lot of acid involved, like in the pharmaceutical and food processing industries.
4. Nickel – Iron Alloys
Nickel – iron alloys are also pretty important. One of the well – known ones is Invar. Invar is a nickel – iron alloy with about 36% nickel. What makes it special is its extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion. That means it doesn’t expand or contract much when the temperature changes. This property makes it ideal for applications where dimensional stability is crucial, like in precision instruments and measuring devices.
Another nickel – iron alloy is Permalloy. It has a high nickel content, usually around 80%. Permalloy has excellent magnetic properties. It’s used in things like transformers and magnetic shielding because it can conduct magnetic fields very well.
Differences in Properties
